Annual Dinner & Awards Presentation
September 10 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Studies report that around 90 percent of child victims know their abuser in some way. Last month alone, 71 out of 76 children served at the CAC knew their abuser – a father, a mother, an aunt, a cousin, a neighbor. While “stranger danger” is a common phrase many use with good intention to help keep kids safe, it is important to understand that offenders are most likely to target children that they know – making it easier to groom and establish a relationship of secrecy.
As you know, the Annual Dinner generates an incredible amount of awareness and funds needed for children to bravely share their stories. Now more than ever, children throughout our community need YOU to recognize and respond to their cries for help. Behind closed doors, tensions are heightened for a multitude of reasons, predators now have 24/7 access, and children fall victim to both.
While we are unable to gather in-person for this year’s Annual Dinner, we invite you to SAVE THE DATE as we go #BeyondTheBallroom to provide hope and healing for children!
On Thursday, September 10th at noon, join us for our first-ever Virtual Cherishing Children Annual Dinner event! During the hour, we’ll be unveiling our latest video production, in collaboration with NICE NWA.
We look forward to sharing great things with you and are thankful for YOUR commitment to #EmpowerKids with us!
