Weather Cancellation Policy
The safety of our participants is the most important thing and if any of the threatening weather conditions listed below are present the day of the event, the event may be delayed or canceled. Due to all the moving parts of planning a run event, we are unable to reschedule the event.
Threatening Weather Conditions
The race may be canceled or delayed if any of the following weather conditions exist: Tornado Warning, Tornado Watch, Thunderstorm, "Heavy" Rain, lightning, high winds or other major weather conditions.
Delay or Cancellation of the Event
The start of the event may be delayed up to one hour from the posted start time if any of the above mentioned conditions exist. The event may then be canceled if any threatening weather conditions persist. Should the weather present any immediate danger to participants who are on-site, local staff and volunteers will assist in moving people to shelter.
Authority to Cancel the Event
The Race Director, in accordance with the Rogers Police Department, has the authority to cancel the event. If threatening weather conditions force cancellation of the event, no refunds can be provided, since funds were already spent in preparation for race day. Rest assured that your registration fee is considered a valuable donation to the Children’s Advocacy Center of Benton County and will go to support a variety of critical and funded programs and services providing real help to people right here in Northwest Arkansas.
We will assess each event 1 hour prior to its scheduled time to determine cancellation.
In the event of cancellation, all participants will receive notification via email with information about how they can still receive their goody bag and t-shirt.
Broadcast of Cancellation
- If Event is canceled more than 24 hours prior to the start time: We will notify all participants by email and post on social media.
- If Event is canceled less than 24 hours before start time: We will notify all participants by email and post to social media.
- If Event is canceled during the actual event, on-site notification will be given over the PA system and CAC staff and CAC of Benton County volunteers will assist in moving individuals to safety and shelter as needed.
